Maurissa Acord
Maurissa was born and raised in Montana, leaving in 1996 to serve 6 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. After her honorable discharge, she returned to Bozeman and began working in a dermatology clinic as a Medical Assistant and Skin Care Specialist and continued that career for 14 years. Maurissa attended esthetician school and opened her own esthetic practice in 2015 where she offers skin care, lash extensions, waxing, and tinting. In 2017, Maurissa completed microblading certification training with On Point Microblading Academy and began her journey in permanent cosmetics.
Maurissa found a passion in helping other estheticians have successful practices and began the adventure of opening an esthetician school, Amara, with two other partners in 2018. She taught Anatomy, Skin Pathology, Advanced Facials, Lash Extensions, and instructed through Student Spa. She continued her teaching passion and opened another training program, War Paint Microblading Academy, with Brooke Ruther in 2020.
Maurissa continues to evolve and improve her trade and attended an advanced training in February of 2021 for permanent makeup in Florida at Will Anthony Permanent Cosmetics & Advanced training. Here she successfully completed training with machine work in Smoky Lash Enhancement, Lip Blushing, and Combo Brow Technique.
Maurissa is married and has two children, and two Golden Retrievers. Her hobbies include art, camping, and snowboarding when she is not helping her children pursue their hobbies and dreams.

Brooke Ruther
Hello! I am Brooke Ruther. Since I was born and raised in Kalispell Montana I have easily fallen in love with the outdoors. Horseback riding and any outdoors sport is a passion of mine along with the arts: painting and drawing.
I have been in the Beauty Industry for almost 13 years. I started with nails for 8 years and then I moved up to esthetics - finding my truest talent with lashes and waxing brows. Quickly after that I became in love with permanent makeup. Microblading being the first, I was able to really fall in love with making people’s brows look thicker and fuller. It is so fulfilling when you see your client’s happiness after microblading.
Microblading has allowed me to open my own salon and I would love to share this taken with you. Be your own boss and invest in your own future!
